G. Jung called the cultural complex of our modern Western civilization “a dissociative disorder“ in which our human nature separates us from primordial nature and nature as a whole. Entering altered states of consciousness may be beneficial for revitalizing our archaic knowledge and integrating it into our modern mind. Consciousness-expanding practices, including the application of psychedelics/archaidelics, have been used for thousands of years in ritualistic applications by cultures around the world to enhance psychospiritual development, healing, and holistic well-being. This talk will give an overview the specific past, present, and future contributions from the fields of transpersonal psychology and psychedelic science. Major institutional organizations in this field will be presented, with a special focus on the European Transpersonal Association (EUROTAS) and the MIND European Foundation for Psychedelic Science with their concrete actions for supporting consciousness evolution and social change.
